My Summer Studying Real Estate

During the summer of 2026, I challenged myself to pursue something new: earning my Alabama Real Estate License. My mother is a real estate agent in Fairhope, Alabama, and I have always admired the intention she brings to her work. Long before a conversation ever reaches buying or selling a home, agents must take the time to understand their clients, listen to their needs, and build relationships rooted in trust. Watching my mom has shown me that real estate is about so much more than property.

Wanting to experience that customer-first approach firsthand, I committed to learning the fundamentals of real estate. After completing a 60-hour pre-licensing course and three preparatory exams, I passed my Alabama Real Estate License exam and became licensed to sell real estate in Alabama.

Although I am still discovering where my career will lead, this experience has already taught me so much. Studying under my mom’s guidance gave me a deeper appreciation for the knowledge, responsibility, and personal connection involved in helping someone make such a significant decision. More than anything, it reinforced something I continue to seek in my own career: the opportunity to understand people, earn their trust, and make a meaningful difference in their experiences.
